Estimado lector\/a, seguramente usted pensar\u00e1 que complejo est\u00e1 este t\u00edtulo. Le puedo asegurar que a medida que usted avance en la lectura de este art\u00edculo lo comprender\u00e1 f\u00e1cilmente.<\/p>\n

Iniciaba el 7 de mayo de 1945, eran las 02.41 de la ma\u00f1ana, cuando en el Cuartel General Supremo de la Fuerza Expedicionaria Aliada (SHAEF), en Reims, Francia; el Jefe del Estado Mayor del Alto Mando de las Fuerzas Armadas alemanas (Oberkommando der Wehrmacht, OKW), el General Alfred Jodl, firm\u00f3 el acta de rendici\u00f3n incondicional y de esa manera terminaba la 2\u00aa. Guerra Mundial en Europa. El Jap\u00f3n firmar\u00eda su rendici\u00f3n el 2 de septiembre con lo que conclu\u00eda el conflicto en toda Asia.<\/p>\n

Hace unos d\u00edas, el Secretario General de la Organizaci\u00f3n de Naciones Unidas (ONU) el diplom\u00e1tico portugu\u00e9s Ant\u00f3nio Guterres extern\u00f3 en un mensaje cuyo objetivo era recordar a los ca\u00eddos durante esa conflagraci\u00f3n lo siguiente:<\/p>\n

\u201cEn el d\u00eda de la memoria y la reconciliaci\u00f3n el mundo rinde homenaje a millones de personas que murieron en la 2\u00aa. Guerra Mundial y recuerda sus sufrimientos. No debemos olvidar el Holocausto y otros cr\u00edmenes terribles de los nazis\u201d.<\/p>\n

El Jefe del organismo mundial agreg\u00f3 que el entendimiento de la importancia de la solidaridad internacional y de los valores humanos fue lo que llev\u00f3 a la fundaci\u00f3n de la Organizaci\u00f3n de las Naciones Unidas, cuya misi\u00f3n principal es librar a las generaciones venideras del flagelo de la guerra.<\/p>\n

\u201cNuestro mundo contin\u00faa sufriendo las consecuencias de los conflictos. E incluso durante la crisis de COVID- 19 somos testigos de tentativas de sembrar divisi\u00f3n entre la gente y propagar el odio\u201d. Afirm\u00f3 que al conmemorar el 75\u00ba Aniversario de la derrota de la Alemania nazi, la humanidad debe recordar las lecciones de 1945 y unificar esfuerzos para acabar con la pandemia y construir un futuro de paz, seguridad y dignidad.<\/p>\n

Tomando en cuenta el mensaje del l\u00edder de la ONU, veamos los pa\u00edses que cuentan con la mayor cifra de fallecidos durante el trascurso de la guerra. URSS (24 millones); China (20 millones); Alemania (8.800.000); Polonia (5.600.000), Indonesia (4 millones); Jap\u00f3n (3.100.000); India (2.500.000), Indochina Francesa (1.500.000), Filipinas (1.400.000), Yugoslavia (1 mill\u00f3n), Rumania (830.000); Grecia (800.000), Hungr\u00eda (580.000), Francia (567.000); Corea (473.000); Italia (457.000); Reino Unido (450.000); Estados Unidos (418.000); Austria (384.000) y muchas otras naciones, Brasil fue el \u00fanico pa\u00eds sudamericano que envi\u00f3 tropas y fallecieron 2000 soldados.<\/p>\n

Al finalizar la guerra en Europa se gener\u00f3 un enorme movimiento de refugiados, 7 millones fueron expulsados de Polonia, 3 millones de Checoslovaquia y 1.800.000 de otros pa\u00edses anteriormente ocupados por las fuerzas alemanas, mientras millones de refugiados de otras nacionalidades trataban de regresar a sus pa\u00edses de origen, muchos no ten\u00edan un lugar donde volver, sobre todo los jud\u00edos sobrevivientes de los campos de concentraci\u00f3n nazis.<\/p>\n

Los jud\u00edos de todas las nacionalidades descubrieron r\u00e1pidamente que el fin del dominio nazi no significaba el fin de la persecuci\u00f3n, ni mucho menos. Pese a todo lo que hab\u00edan sufrido los jud\u00edos, el antisemitismo aumentar\u00eda al final de la guerra, por ejemplo los pogromos (matanzas, saqueos de gente indefensa en este caso jud\u00edos), en Polonia. Los jud\u00edos seg\u00fan el historiador Tony Judt en su obra \u201cPosguerra\u201d, no eran bienvenidos ni en el este ni en el oeste.<\/p>\n

Hace unos d\u00edas un informe\u00a0 de la Conferencia Episcopal Alemana, confirm\u00f3 que Obispos Cat\u00f3licos de ese pa\u00eds, \u201cse hicieron c\u00f3mplices de cr\u00edmenes nazis\u201d. El documento dice que si bien los Obispos no compart\u00edan la ideolog\u00eda racial de Hitler, de todos modos ayudaban a apoyar \u201ctanto a los soldados como al r\u00e9gimen\u201d.<\/p>\n

A su vez historiadores alemanes afirmaron haber descubierto un documento que confirma cuanto sab\u00eda el Papa Pio XII sobre lo que suced\u00eda durante el Holocausto y demuestra tras su investigaci\u00f3n que no comparti\u00f3 esa informaci\u00f3n que pose\u00eda con las autoridades estadounidenses. Creo que ahora estimado lector\/a entendi\u00f3 lo del t\u00edtulo.<\/p>\n
