dispositivos electr\u00f3nicos sin l\u00edmite mantiene a m\u00e1s del 20% de la poblaci\u00f3n, principalmente estudiantes, adolescentes y adultos j\u00f3venes, con s\u00edndrome de sue\u00f1o insuficiente (SSI), afirm\u00f3 Ulises Jim\u00e9nez Correa, director de la Cl\u00ednica de Trastornos del Sue\u00f1o de la UNAM.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Se trata, explica, de una alteraci\u00f3n al dormir y las personas que la padecen se quejan de tener sue\u00f1o en el d\u00eda y, por lo mismo, se les dificulta atender sus actividades escolares, laborales o familiares.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El especialista ha detectado que la causa fisiol\u00f3gica de este trastorno es la estimulaci\u00f3n luminosa que se imponen al usar dispositivos electr\u00f3nicos sin l\u00edmite.<br \/>\nAhora los estudiantes, dice, ocupan las noches para hacer sus tareas en equipo por Internet o revisar las redes sociales y su correo electr\u00f3nico y esa estimulaci\u00f3n no permite que el cerebro identifique que ya es hora de dormir.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Al exponerse a dispositivos electr\u00f3nicos ocurren cambios importantes en la qu\u00edmica cerebral y se deja de producir la melatonina en un horario adecuado, lo que dificulta el inicio del sue\u00f1o.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Adem\u00e1s, explica Jim\u00e9nez Correa, hay personas que tienen conductas que no les permiten iniciar el descanso, como cenar tarde, leer o llegar muy noche a casa.<br \/>\n\u201cEl problema es que por lo regular las actividades laborales y\/o escolares empiezan temprano y es cuando se presentan los s\u00edntomas diurnos de esta afectaci\u00f3n, que son: somnolencia, dificultad para hacer bien las actividades, irritabilidad, ansiedad, problemas de atenci\u00f3n, concentraci\u00f3n y memoria\u201d, subraya.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ello se traduce en una baja productividad laboral o rendimiento escolar inadecuado, adem\u00e1s de cambios en el estilo de vida e incluso en las relaciones sociales.<br \/>\nLo peor, dice, es que a veces la gente se queda dormida si requiere estar alerta y eso ocasiona accidentes. \u201cHoy se sabe que los choques durante las primeras horas de la ma\u00f1ana se presentan porque hay privaci\u00f3n de sue\u00f1o\u201d, afirma.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El especialista asegura que el problema se presenta por igual en hombres y en mujeres, en la adolescencia y primeros a\u00f1os de la edad adulta, porque es la etapa donde ya no se tienen l\u00edmites en t\u00e9rminos de horarios y, por lo tanto, empiezan a privarse de horas de sue\u00f1o.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">En la muestra general de quienes asisten a la cl\u00ednica universitaria, el 15% presenta este problema y por grupos de edad, el 100% de la poblaci\u00f3n estudiantil de entre 15 y 25 a\u00f1os que acude lo hace para atenderse por este s\u00edndrome, se\u00f1ala el especialista.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Los pacientes duermen tres o cuatro horas por noche, de lunes a viernes, y tratan de recuperarse en fin de semana, lo cual lejos de ser una soluci\u00f3n, ocasiona que se acumule una deuda importante de sue\u00f1o, subraya.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Si un paciente con SSI quiere recuperarse, explica el acad\u00e9mico de la UNAM, debe evitar automedicarse, dormir entre siete y nueve horas diarias y realizar alguna actividad f\u00edsica, porque una rutina deportiva ayuda a descansar, apunta.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sin embargo, aclara, cada caso es diferente, lo que hace necesario acudir con un especialista a fin de conocer el estado general de salud y las rutinas escolares o laborales y en funci\u00f3n de estos datos se hacen esquemas personalizados encaminados a favorecer la calidad y tiempo.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Lo primordial, sostiene, es tener un orden de actividades las 24 horas del d\u00eda y utilizar el d\u00eda para actividades cotidianas, porque \u201csi ocupamos tiempo de la noche, adquirimos el
